Board Meetings

COVID-19 Update: DPS Board of Education meetings are currently being live-streamed through Vimeo for public viewing.

Current and upcoming meeting information can be found on BoardDocs, including agendas developed to facilitate the work of the Board and to inform the public what issues the Board will be discussing at meetings. The official minutes of past Board meetings are available to the public online on BoardDocs, after they are approved by the Board.

The Denver Public Schools Board of Education encourages you to become involved in the success of our schools and students.  You are invited to attend our Board of Education meetings and/or watch them through our video streaming files. For the time being, we will have limited space for in-person attendance at the Regular Monthly Board Meetings and will only be allowing 10 community members inside the meeting room.  If you are interested in attending the Regular Monthly Board Meeting in-person, you can find more information and request to do so here. Special accommodations and translation services will be provided upon request.  Please notify the Board of Education Office at least 48 hours prior to the meeting to make arrangements to allow for requested accommodations.

Virtual Public Comment

Your opinion and feedback are important to the Board of Education. The community is invited to attend board meetings and speak publicly about district policy.

Residents, parents/guardians, staff and students who wish to address the Denver Public Schools Board of Education during a public meeting may now sign up online, as well as by phone. The form is available on the agenda for public comment. Sign up is available online at 10:00 a.m. the Friday before a regularly scheduled Thursday business meeting.

Anyone without computer access may still sign up by calling 720-423-3210 by 5:00 p.m. the day before the board meeting.

Similar to phone sign-ups, the online sign-up window closes the day before the board meeting at 5:00 p.m. A finalized list of speakers will be posted to the Public Comment agenda by noon the day of the board meeting. Three minutes will be allotted to individual speakers and 10 minutes to groups.

Individuals may sign up only once to address the Board. No individual in a group will be allowed to speak for more than three minutes. Substitutes are not allowed – only the person who signed up to speak may address the Board.

We will be holding all public comments virtually until further notice. Those who have signed up for public comment will receive an email with the Zoom link and speaker list around 3:00 p.m. on the day of the Board meeting.

The Board asks that you plan your presentation in advance, make your presentation as clear and concise as possible, and be prepared to email your comments to the Board at board@dpsk12.org if we experience a technical failure at any point during the meeting. When it is your turn to speak, you will be called upon by the Board President and your microphone will be unmuted. After your allotted 3 minutes is complete, your microphone will be re-muted and you can leave the Zoom conference room.  Because of limited staff resources, we will not be able to provide technical assistance if you are having trouble with your internet, technology or software.

Since the Board is the policy-making body of the school district, it is most appropriate to address the direction of policy with the Board. Individual concerns are best resolved closest to the situation. Parents are encouraged to contact their local school or central department to handle a specific problem.
