Jill Conrad - At-Large - Secretary

Jill Conrad

Jill Conrad was elected to the Denver Public Schools Board of Education in November 2005. She is an independent education consultant with over 10 years of experience improving school systems through educational policy analysis, research, evaluation, planning, and technical assistance. She has been involved in numerous school reform initiatives involving accountability, school improvement planning, education governance, teaching quality, school leadership, school finance, P-16 education, service-learning, civic learning and civic/community engagement. Her clients and partners have included nonprofit organizations, foundations, public policy centers, universities, private corporations, and governmental agencies. Currently, Ms. Conrad serves as the Director for the CO Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools, a statewide effort to ensure that all students are well educated for their role in a democracy (see www.co-civicmissionofschools.org for more information). She's also a Senior Associate with the CO Partnership for Educational Renewal (www.coloradopartnership.org).

Known for her collaborative leadership, Ms. Conrad is also active in community and civic life. She is a Co-Founder and board member of the Colorado Civic Canopy (www.co-civiccanopy.org), is a member of the Golden Triangle Neighborhood Association, the Downtown Denver Residents Organization, and the Denver Democratic Party. She proudly served as Board Chair for Project YES, an after-school youth organization from 1998-2004 (www.project-yes.org).

Ms. Conrad is currently a PhD student in the Educational Leadership and Innovation program at the University of Colorado at Denver. She received her Master's Degree in Educational Foundations, Policy, and Practice from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1997, and her Bachelor's degree in Communication and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire in 1991. Jill has also participated in several leadership development programs including the Colorado Institute for Leadership Training www.ciltonline.org and the Go Run-Go Lead Political Training for Women www.voterunlead.org sponsored by the White House Project www.thewhitehouseproject.org.
